A Weekend of Books, Art & Community
Join us as Juliet Books celebrates our Grand Opening in the heart of downtown Cary! We’re kicking things off Friday evening with a special Grand Opening Eve celebration, followed by a full Saturday of books, art and some very special local guests.
Come for one event or spend the weekend with us. Browse the shelves, meet authors and artists, talk books with fellow readers and help us celebrate the beginning of this new chapter.
Grand Opening Eve | Friday, September 18
6:00–8:00 p.m. | Kendra Scott Pop-Up
Start the celebration a little early with a beautiful evening at Juliet Books. Kendra Scott of Fenton will bring a curated selection of bestselling jewelry and accessories to the bookstore for a special Grand Opening Eve pop-up, making it easy to shop a few beautiful things while you browse the shelves.
We’ll have live music, books, jewelry and plenty of Grand Opening excitement as we count down to the big day.
Grand Opening Day | Saturday, September 19
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Poetry Fox
Meet Poetry Fox – aka Durham poet Chris Vitiello – a giant fox with a vintage typewriter and a knack for turning just about any word into a poem. Give him a word, and he’ll bang out a custom, on-demand poem written just for you. Poems are available for a small fee and are perfect for readers of all ages.
10:30–11:30 a.m. | Ryan T. Bliss
Meet Cary native Ryan T. Bliss – author, singer, songwriter and creator with more than 1 million YouTube subscribers. Ryan brings his signature humor and heart to Mooseclumps and Other Poems, a delightfully absurd collection of poems and hand-drawn illustrations. He’ll be at Juliet Books signing books and meeting little readers.
1:00–2:00 p.m. | Meagan Church
Join us for a special author conversation with Meagan Church, author of The Mad Wife. Meagan will talk about the novel and its exploration of identity, motherhood, expectation and the carefully constructed appearances of 1950s suburban life, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
Meagan Church’s 1:00 p.m. author event is free, but advance registration is required. All other Grand Opening activities are open to everyone – no registration needed.
4:00–5:00 p.m. | Dr. Katherine Loflin
Longtime Cary resident Dr. Katherine Loflin – known as “The City Doctor” – is the author of Hidden History of Cary, which brings to life the lesser-known people, places and stories behind the town we call home. Stop in to meet Katherine, talk local history and have your copy signed.
6:00–7:00 p.m. | Amy Yeager Jorge
End the day with local artist Amy Yeager Jorge, creator of Amy’s Creative Corner. Amy creates meaningful artwork inspired by animals, nature and the beauty found in everyday spaces. She’ll host a special art show, share the stories and inspiration behind her work, chat with guests and sign pieces throughout the evening.
